Dear Stevenson Families,
You may have noticed the new valet cue in front of our school. After several conversations with the city, law enforcement, and district administrators, this change was made and will begin on Tuesday, January 17. Here is the rational and instructions shared with me from the City of Burbank:
As we discussed, below is a description of the changes made by the city:
1. Valet shortened to operate between Lima and California only: This will prevent valet vehicles from driving through the stop sign. In addition, this prevents the valet from blocking driver view of students at the crosswalk;
2. Red curb on Oak west of Lima crosswalk: This will prevent parking and drop off just past the shortened valet. In addition, this prevents parking within the Lima intersection per City Municipal Code 6-1-1029.B;
3. Parking allowed east of Avon: This will provide additional parking for staff and residents since the valet is now shortened to Lima.
I’ve also informed Traffic Lieutenant Jay Hawver so officers assigned to Stevenson may be notified the changes done per your request.

All students will now enter through the gate closest to the office. Walking through the parking lot is absolutely prohibited. Please use the sidewalk in front of the parking lot if you are walking east on Oak Street. Thank you for your support in making this change work for the safety of our students.
